WELCOME TO FREEWHEELING ACROSS THE HIMALAYAS

My name is Celine Soulard and on July 2010 I will embark on a 7 month cycling journey from Tajikistan to Nepal. This adventure will take me to some of the most challenging and beautiful roads in the world. I am also undertaking this journey to raise funds for the Mary A. Tidlund Charitable Foundation in support of the Ladakh Project (Health inc). I encourage you to subscribe to my blog to follow me in this great adventure. I will share with you in this blog stories and photos on a regular basis and hope to inspire you to contribute to the Ladakh Project.

Thanks
Celine

About me

I am a 45 year old Canadian woman born in the province of Quebec and living in Calgary for the last 12 years where I spend most weekends hiking, scrambling, skiing in the beautiful Canadian Rockies. I worked as an accountant and IT specialist for the past 15 years and now it is time for a change of pace. I simply can't picture myself spending the next 20 years working in an office environment with few weeks off each year. In 2004 I took a year off cycling and now after 5 years of cubicle life I am ready to go and explore our planet a little more!

I have a passion for the mountains and for travelling. My favorite way to travel is on a bicycle as it gives me a lot of freedom, a slow enough pace to breathe and fully feel my surrounding, makes interacting with people very easy and of course it keeps me fit! Over the last few years I have developed a love for nature photography as different way to be close to nature and witness its beauty. Photography will be one of the focus of this trip.

So for the next seven months (and hopefully more) I will be "out of the office" experiencing and celebrating life on the open road :-)
